Paris, September 3rd, 2014 – Saft, the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of advanced technology batteries for industry, has received orders for the continuing supply of aircraft batteries from Korea Aerospace Industries, Ltd (KAI). Under the terms of the orders, Saft will provide maintenance-free nickel-based batteries for military aircraft applications on the KAI T-50/A-50 series aircraft.
KAI is an emerging competitor in both military and commercial aviation markets, currently providing an indigenous source of advanced jet aircraft to the Republic of Korea Air Force, as well as the military forces of Indonesia, Iraq and Philippines. With this agreement, Saft will continue to provide a single interface for the supply of batteries for T-50/A-50 aircraft.
